About our Pastor....
Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Peter Trabaris
Rev. Peter Trabaris is an Ordained MCC Clergyman. He has served as the pastor of three UFMCC congregations, and has served in denominational ministry for the better part of a decade, with responsibilities to Clergy and Churches over a six-state area. Peter has been certified as a Teaching Church pastor, and has been specially trained in Small-Group Ministry. Additionally, Peter has represented MCC ecumenically in the following capacities: a) Representative to the National Council of the Churches in Christ USA; b) Member of the Executive Board of the Church Federation of Greater Chicago; c) Member of the Executive Board of the Hyde-Park and Kenwood Inter-Faith Council; d) Member of the Executive Board of the Chicago Overnight Shelter Board; e) Co-Founder of the North Eastern Lake County Clergy Network.
Rev. Trabaris has also been an activist and leader in the GLBT Community for more than twenty years. Peter served on the first Gay and Lesbian Student Caucus which worked to organize and network GLBT campus groups throughout Illinois. He was also a Co-Founder of the Central Illinois Gay and Lesbian Task Force.
Rev. Trabaris holds a B. A. in Organizational Management from North Park University, Chicago, IL. He was trained in Ministry by Samaritan College, of the UFMCC, and holds a Certificate of Ministry from that Institution.
